Sec 144 clamped on Kamrup district

GUWAHATI, May 9 � The district administration today promulgated CrPC 144 in the Kamrup district with immediate effect in view of a security threat.

Accordingly, movement of any unauthorized person within 100 metres radius of vital installations like ASEB, BSNL, LPG bottling plant and railway tracks has been prohibited, an official release stated.

Further, the administration has also restricted earth-cutting in hill areas, besides boulder crushing in view of the threat it poses to the lives of the people living in the close vicinity.

Promulgating CrPC 144, the district administration has further restricted transportation of any such materials from hill areas.

In a press statement, the administration also informed that in view of the law-and-order situation in the district, assembling of five or more persons has also been prohibited.

As per the norms, activities such as taking out procession, using loud speakers, shouting slogans, gambling in public places, carrying arms in public places including while riding on a two-wheeler or a four-wheeler, is also prohibited.

Moreover, the district administration has also prohibited sale of tobacco and gutka products within 200 metres radius of educational institutions.
