SEBA lodges FIRs over fake marksheets

GUWAHATI, Sept 10 - With two instances of fake HSLC marksheets coming into light in Goalpara and Biswanath Chariali in the past couple of days, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has lodged FIRs in both the cases.

The Board has also alerted its machinery for prompt response in such cases to bust the fake marksheet producing racket.

�The fake marksheets were being produced for college admission, when they got caught. With the online system in place, we could locate the particulars of the students and the students� parents were called subsequently. Further investigation is on in both the cases and the hopefully the racket would be busted soon,� SEBA Controller of Examination Nayan Jyoti Sarma said.

The Board official added that the 180 GSM sheets are used for making the HSLC marksheets and certificates, etc, with sufficient security measures to detect counterfeit documents.
