Scribe�s murder in UP condemned

GUWAHATI, Dec 2 - The Journalists� Forum Assam (JFA) has expressed serious concern at the repeated murder of scribes in the country and urged the Union government to urgently formulate a national action plan to safeguard the mediapersons.

The JFA, while condemning the murder of journalist Navin Gupta in Billhaur locality of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday evening by miscreants, pointed out that with his killing India has lost 11 journalists in the last 11 months.

Navin, 35, who used to work for New Delhi-based Hindi daily newspaper Hindustan, was attacked by three motorcycle riders, who fled the scene after committing the crime. The injured Navin was taken to a nearby hospital, but the attending doctors declared him brought dead.
