GUWAHATI, Sept 22 - Expressing shock over the brutal murder of Shantanu Bhowmik, a young television scribe in Tripura, the Journalists Forum Assam (JFA) has demanded a high level probe into the incident and urged the Manik Sarkar-led Left Front government in the State to bring the culprits to book.

The forum also demanded a special law for the protection of scribes on duty.

Bhowmik (29), who was associated with a local news channel Dinrat in Agartala, was attacked on Wednesday when he had gone to cover a clash between the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) and the Tripura Rajaer Upajati Ganamukti Parishad (TRUGP) at Mandai in West Tripura district.
