GUWAHATI, Dec 5 - The biennial lecture organised by the Balya Bhavan Alumni Association in memory of founder headmistress of the school Abala Gohain will be held at the District Library Jorhat on December 15 from 11 am, stated a press release issued here.
The lecture will be delivered by Padma Shri award-winning scientist Dr Jitendra Nath Goswami of Chandrayaan fame.
In conformity with the event, this time too, two teachers who have made significant contributions to society will be conferred the Abala Gohain and Gopinath Baruah memorial awards. This year�s Abala Gohain Memorial Award will be conferred on Ajanta Rajkhowa, headmistress of No.146 Bakhor Bora LP School at Namsungi. Rajkhowa has been chosen for the award for the second consecutive time. The Gopinath Baruah Memorial Award winner for this year is Brojen Bora, headmaster of Lakhimi Nagar ME School at Serekapar, Sivasagar.
