Science centres proposed in Manipur: Ibobi

IMPHAL, Feb 28 - Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh on Saturday said that the government has proposed to have a science centre in every district of the State.

Ibobi was speaking at the inaugural function of Mirror Magic Gallery and release of three software programmes at Manipur Science Centre here.

He said the Department of Science and Technology is not only working at improving Manipur Science Centre at Takyelpat here but has also taken initiaves for setting up two district science centres in the hill districts of Ukhrul and Churachandpur,

He further informed that a 50 seat digital planetarium and innovation hub are coming up in the Manipur Science Centre.

Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai, Project Coordinator of Regional science centre Pramod Grover and Principal Secretary (Science and Technology) H Gyan Prakash attended the function.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister yesterday released the State�s economic survey report 2015-16 which is expected to be tabled in the ongoing State Assembly session on March 2.
