School cricket at Dhekiajuli

GUWAHATI, Jan 19 - Dhekiajuli District Sports Association (DDSA) is organising an inter school cricket tournament in memory of educationist and former headmaster of Dhekiajuli High School Dhirendra Mohan Das. The tournament got underway at the DDSA ground, Dhekiajuli today which was inaugurated by Assam Cricket Association secretary Pradip Buragohain. Inaugurating the championship, Buragohain lauded the gesture of the DDSA from which talented budding cricketers can be spotted. He also revealed that talented players from this meet may be invited to join Assam Cricket Association�s academy for advance training. He also stressed on holding as many tournaments as possible in order to identify young talents. DDSA secretary Apurba Kr Bhattacharjee welcomed the gathering.

Participating team: St Ursula HSS, Vivekananda Sister Nivedita School, Sankardev Sishu Nikatan, Little Angel English School, Devendra Green Grove English School, Dhekiajuli High School, Rashtrabhasa Vidyapith, Netaji Vidyamandir are participating in the championship.
