NEW DELHI, July 16 - The Supreme Court is likely to hear the petition filed by Assam Sanmilita Mahasangha (ASM) next month.
A three-member Bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra and comprising Justices AN Khanwilkar and DY Chandrachud passed the order after hearing the ASM�s counsel here today.
The petitioner pressed for early hearing of the pending matter before the publication of the final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) on July 30.
According to the State government�s counsel, the Bench will give a date in August.
