NALBARI, Dec 21 � Rich tributes were paid to renowned litterateur Sarat Chandra Goswami, who was the founder secretary general of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, at a function organised by the Sabha at the MNC Balika Mahavidyalaya here on Thursday.
The day-long programme began with the hoisting of the Sahitya Sabha flag by Pramod Haloi, president of the Nalbari Zilla Sahitya Sabha. Munindra Narayan Choudhuri garlanded the portrait of Goswami.
The open meeting, presided over by Dr Paramananda Rajbangshi, vice president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, was addressed by Kanak Chandra Sarma, also a vice president of the Sabha. The souvenir brought out on the occasion was released by Dr Basanta Kumar Bhattacharya, former president of the Nalbari Zilla Sahitya Sabha.
