SBI manager abducted

SHILLONG, Feb 24 � A State Bank of India manager was abducted at gun point by four unidentified men today at East Garo Hills.

The incident happened when VK Gupta, the assistant general manager (inspection) of SBI was waylaid by four men at Chotamatia area in East Garo Hills district. He was proceeding towards Assam after completing audit at Mendipathar branch of SBI, police officials said. �Four motorcycle-borne youths armed with pistols stopped the vehicle, which Gupta was travelling in and abducted him at gun-point,� police said.

However, the police are uncertain if the GNLA is involved in this particular instance with no specific inputs so far.
