SBI donates Rs 2 crore to Mary Kom foundation

SHILLONG, Jan 24: The State Bank of India donated an amount of Rs 2 Crore to Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation, Manipur and a TATA school bus to Auxilium Umpohliew Jingstad, Nongpoh under the bank�s scheme of Corporate Social Responsibility.

The donations were handed over by Arundhati Bhattacharya, Chairman of SBI who was on an official visit to the city here today. The SBI Chairman said that the bank is very happy to be associated with persons and institutions who have been rendering yeomen services for the betterment of the less fortunate and assured that more of such welfare activities will be taken up in the North East in the near future, stated a release.
