SBI aid for health centres in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Feb 25 - The Guwahati (Metro) region of the State Bank of India has distributed 50 wheelchairs and 50 stretcher trolleys to various health centres and hospitals of the city. This is an initiative undertaken by the SBI to reinforce the bank�s commitment towards boosting health care.

To mark the occasion, a programme was organised by the SBI�s Regional Business Office, Guwahati Metro on Wednesday to felicitate 10 government and non-profit health centres and hospitals in Guwahati under its area of operation.

Samir Kr Sinha, State Health Commissioner and Secretary, handed over the donated items to the health centres and hospitals, which included the B Barooah Cancer Institute, MMC Hospital, Marwari Maternity Hospital, Red Cross Hospital, Ramakrishna Mission Hospital, Azara 30-bed Hospital, ESIC Hospital, etc.

PVSLN Murty, chief general manager; Gautam Bhattacharjee, general manager; Kaushik Sinha, DGM and CDO, State Bank of India, Local Head Office, Guwahati; Sanjay Srivastava, DGM, Guwahati Module; Hari Har Patnaik, AGM, Guwahati Metro and Dulal Choudhury, AGM, Guwahati Rural, were present on the occasion. Similar activities are being adopted in 18 other regions of the bank throughout the North East.
