Sayan, Writik make Sonitpur proud

TEZPUR, May 31 - Sayan Mazumdar of Don Bosco High School here brought laurels to Tezpur by securing the fourth position in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2017, results of which were declared today.

He scored 586 (97.66 per cent) marks and secured Letter marks in English (100), Hindi (92), General Mathematics (99), Advance Mathematics (99), General Science (97) and Social Science (99). Chayan Majumdar wishes to become an astronaut in future and he would study at Darrang College here taking Science stream. He is the son of Mitali Majumdar and Chinmoy Majumdar, an employee of a private entrepreneur at the heart of the town and a resident of Polo-field area here.

Writik Sutar of Singri Pol Star English School brought laurels to the greater Singri-Barchala area under Dhekiahuli PS in Sonitpur district by securing the fifth position. People of the remote rural area came out on the streets to celebrate. He secured 585 marks with Letter marks in all the subjects with 97 marks in English, 97 in General Mathematics, 100 in Advance Mathematics, 98 in Science, 98 in Social Science and 95 in Hindi.

He is the son of Ruhini Sutar and Tika Chetry of Singri area, some 28 km from Dhekiajuli town towards the south. Talking to this Correspondent, Writik Sutar said that he wishes to be an engineer in the future and wants to pursue studies at Nagaon Ramanujan Junior College.

Meanwhile, it needs to be mentioned here that among the secondary level educational institutions, including private, government and provincialised schools in and around Tezpur town, the Tezpur Don Bosco High school has been able to maintain a hundred percent pass percentage with 28 Distinctions, 35 Stars, 102 first division and five second division.
