Sawn timber seized

NAGAON, June 16 - Forest personnel of Salna Forest Range under Nagaon Division in three separate raids conducted respectively at Borjuri, Borghuli and Ambagan seized a considerable amount of illegally-sawn timber at Borjuri area when a consignment of valuable timber was being carried from Karbi Anglong to an unknown destination.

Three illegal saw mills at Ambagan and Borghuli area on Monday and Tuesday morning were also closed. Sources said that following a tip-off, forest staff of Salna led by Ranger Nepal Mandal launched a drive at Borjuri area near the Karbi Anglong border on Sunday night. They found sawn timber at Borjuri village near the Karbi Anglong border, which was seized.
