GUWAHATI, April 28 - The 18th establishment day of Chandamukha Sattriya Academy, Bamunimaidam, was observed at Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on Saturday.

The function started with lightning of the lamp by Hariprasanna Mahanta, principal of Chandamukha Sattriya Academy and Sattradhikar of Dekabapu Sattra, Sualkuchi, followed by lightning of the lamp at the portrait of late Sattradhikar Prafulla Chandra Mahanta by Bhargav Mahanta, Sattradhikar of Sundarisaal Sattra, Rangiya.

The inaugural lecture was delivered by Padma Shri recipient Jatin Goswami, president of the Sattriya Shikshak Samaj, Assam, who appealed to students to include dance in their daily routine.

A souvenir was also released on the occasion by Dr Hitesh Boruah, managing director of Nemcare Hospital.

A mancha prabesh nirmali pradan programme for two students of the academy � Dibyashree Mahanta and Malaya Sarmah � was held, which was followed by Sattriya dance and songs performed by students of the Academy.
