GUWAHATI, May 25 � A delegation of Asom Satra Mahasabha, headed by its working president Dutta Dev Goswami and Jibeswar Dev Goswami, general secretary, met Governor JB Patnaik at Raj Bhavan today and discussed the problems regarding encroachment and financial difficulties of Satras, a press release said.
The Governor advised them to co-operate with the Government in the fresh assessment of Satra land and submit a detailed report to the Government about their problems with a copy to the Governor of Assam.
He also advised them that the satras should mingle with devotees and involve themselves in the welfare of the common people. The Governor also advised them to work for the spiritual uplift of the society for a better world, the release added.
