Satish Tamuly cricket underway

NALBARI, March 8 - The Satish Chandra Tamuly All Assam T20 Cricket Tournament got underway here today.

In the opening match, City Cricket Coaching Centre, Guwahati outplayed Pace Mukalmua by nine wickets.

Batting first, Mukalmua managed to score 101 for eight. Washim Ali was their top scorer with 36.

The City CCC boys took 11.5 overs to reach the target losing one wicket. Rahul Hazarika and Romario Sharma remained unbeaten on 24 and 22 respectively.

Earlier, BCCI curator Mukut Kalita inaugurated the championship in the presence of local MLA Ashok Sarma, organisers Abdul Rouf and Ganesh Tamuly along with a host of sportspersons and organisers.

Brief scores: Mukalmua 101/8 (Washim Ali 36, Bhargav Sutradhar 20). City CCC 102/1 (Rahul Hazarika 24, Romario Sharma 20).
