GUWAHATI, Nov 15 � A two-member team of local organizing committee (LOC) for the 2017 World Cup (U-17) visited the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai here to take stock of the infrastructure available in the sports complex.
Zavier Ceppi, Tournament Director of the LOC, appointed by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Joy Bhattacharjee, Project Director of the LOC, accompanied by the Assam Football Association secretary Ankur Dutta and Sports Authority of Assam�s vice-president Rana Goswami, visited the Sarusajai stadium, IIT ground and the Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education complex, Tepesia.
The LOC members also took stock of the other infrastructure of the complex like the dressing room, referees� room, match referees� room etc. The visiting members expressed satisfaction over the infrastructure available here They believe that the city venue has the potentiality of hosting matches for the U-17 World Cup.
