DHUBRI, Jan 3 - On the 105th birth anniversary of Jananeta and former chief minister Sarat Chandra Singha, different dignitaries from all over the district shared their experiences about him at a programme organised by the Dhubri district and Falimari branches of Asam Sahitya Sabha at Sankar-Azan School at Falimari.
On the occasion, different speakers said that the former chief minister taught people about living a �simple� and �honest� life.
Senior journalist of the Bilasipara area, Moslem Uddin Ahmed said Sarat Chandra Singha was the person who lived his life on his own terms and cared little for what others thought about him. He dedicated his life for the service of the people of Assam.
The programme was attended by retired professor of BN College, Girindra Nath Goswami, senior advocate NI Choudhary, senior journalist Ashiqur Rahman, Pronobashis Roy, president of Dhubri District Sahitya Sabha, Upendrajit Sharma and many other dignitaries and members of the literary body.
On the same occasion, Arunodoy Divas was also observed by the literary body in which several journalists of the district took part and shared their experiences as a scribe and the challenges they face in their day-to-day lives.
Meanwhile, the birth anniversary of the former chief minister and the Gandhian leader was also observed by various organisations, clubs and institutions throughout the district and floral tributes were paid at his statues and photographs.
