GUWAHATI, July 19 � The Assam Football Association (AFA) today named the 20-member State squad for the 64th Senior National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy which is going on in Kolkata.
Today the probables played a friendly match at the Judges� Field here against a combined team of Gauhati Town Club and ASEB Sports Club. Earlier, the 24 probables were picked up from the preliminary camp held at Golaghat.
Assam will begin its campaign against Himachal Pradesh in cluster VII on July 22. Kerala and Uttarakhand are the other teams in the group. Akom Ao of Assam Rifles has been named captain of the team.
