GUWAHATI, Sept 10 - A santoor recital featuring noted exponent Pankaj Sarma was held at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra recently.
The event was held under the aegis of Siva Kumar Sharma Santoor Academy run by Sarma, where he trains young students.
The cultural evening was inaugurated by Swapnanil Barua. Sarma, who hails from a remote village in Nalbari, had undertaken a journey to Mumbai 28 years back to learn the santoor under maestro Pandit Sivkumar Sharma. After going through the rigours, he came back to his native place and has been nurturing and promoting young talents since.
