GUWAHATI, April 19 - Santipur Cricket Academy edged past Kokrajhar Cricket Academy by virtue of better run rate in first 15 overs in their match of the 7th Sitaram Agarwala Memorial U-17 Inter School/Organisation Cricket Tournament at the Assam Cricket Association�s Barsapara stadium here today.
In the rain disturbed match, Kokrajhar CA piled up 172 in 39.4 overs after opting to bat first. Mousam Dey top scored with 89-ball 66 which included 11 boundaries while Santipur bowler Sameer Dewra came out with a rich haul of seven wickets.
Santipur were 84 for four in 23.1 overs when rain forced the match to be abandoned. As per the tournament rule Santipur (71) team was declared winner as they scored more runs in first 15 overs than Kokrajhar (70). Sameer Dewra was picked for the man-of-the-match award.
