GUWAHATI, Feb 24 - Santipur Athletic Club (AC) defeated Bud Cricket Club (Green) by six wickets in the 14th Bud Challenge Cricket Tournament at the MDSA Stadium in Mangaldai today.
Bud CC (Green) electing to bat were all out for 145 runs in 38 overs with Abhisekh Thakuri top scoring with 47 runs laced with eight boundaries while Dhrubajyoti Das contributed an unbeaten 22 runs. Mukut Kalita chipped in with 18 runs. Subham Mandal was the pick of the bowlers for Santipur AC with a haul of four wickets for 25 runs in 8 overs while Biplab Saikia claimed three wickets for 14 runs in 8 overs. Ratul Dey took one wicket for 3 runs in 1 over.
In reply, Santipur AC chased the target losing four wickets in 32 overs. Biplab Saikia rose to the occasion with an unbeaten 55 runs including seven boundaries while Subham Mandal contributed 15 runs. Sadek Imran Choudhury bagged two wickets for 15 runs in 5 overs while Anup Ghosh took one wicket for 29 runs in 8 overs. Biplab Saikia of Santipur AC received the man of the match award.
