Verses were read from the Kirtan Ghosa, and men and women from the Assamese community took part in naam prasanga. The naam ended with the distribution of prasad, which was soon followed by a cultural programme.

Two youths presented a Satriya dance based on Sankaradevas first poem Karatala Kamala. The musical segment included borgeet and lokogeet sung in praise of the saint. The highlight of the cultural function was a bhaona Doisyu Ratnakar, based on the story of dacoit Ratnakar, prior to his transformation into the great saint Valmiki.
