�Sankalpa Yatra� proceeds towards central Assam

DIBRUGARH, Nov 12 - The �Sankalpa Yatra�, which is a mass rally against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 by Krishak Mukti Sangram Sammittee (KMSS) and 70 other ethnic organisations, today flagged off its motorbike rally from the Old Government Boys School playground here and proceeded towards Moranhat on NH 37.

The motorcycle rally, which was flagged off from Digboi in Tinsukia district yesterday took the night sojourn in the city here. The rally will culminate at Dispur. The �Sankalpa Yatra�, which is aimed at connecting all sections of the people from all walks of life, is being organised from Sadiya to Dhubri. The rally is being led by KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi.

The yatra in the city here moved towards the NH 37 via Thana Chariali, Dibrugarh Town Railway Station and Amollapatty. Some 150 protestors in about 85 motorcycles were seen leading the rally at Amollapatty here. The protestors carried posters, banners and raised slogans all along the rally. They said that the anti-Assamese agenda of the BJP-RSS will not be allowed in the State. They demanded immediate withdrawal of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, deportation of all Bangladeshis and sealing of all porous border along the Bangladesh. The protestors will halt at Teok in Jorhat district today for the night stay, the organisers informed.
