GUWAHATI, Nov 2 - Sanjeev Sharma has assumed the charge of Inspector General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Guwahati. He had joined this frontier as DIG on June 24 this year following his transfer from the Force Headquarters, SSB, New Delhi.
Sharma is a 1989 batch Direct Entry SSB Cadre Officer who has served in various formations of SSB and in different capacities. He has also served in the Elite Special Protection Group.
On assumption of charge as IG Frontier Headquarters, Guwahati, he asserted that the mandate of the SSB is to create a sense of security among the border population, besides its primary role of securing the Indo-Bhutan border. He also said that for a peaceful and crime-free border, maintaining cordial relations with the border population is his first priority. He emphasised on the cooperation of all stakeholders for an effective border management in the state.
