TASHKENT (Uzbekistan), Sept 22 (IANS) - India's Sania Mirza and Italy's Maria Elena Camerin entered the doubles quarterfinals of Tashkent Open tennis here Wednesday.
Sania and Elena defeated the Ukrainian sisters Lyudmyla and Nadiya Kichenok 6-2, 6-3 in one hour, in the presence of Indian Embassy personnel at the Olympic Tennis Centre.
The Indo-Italian pair will now take on Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania and Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia, who upset third-seeded Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan and Belarusian Darya Kustova 7-5, 7-6(13).
