Sangma invites US cos to invest in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, Sept 26 - Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, who is currently on a tour to the US, today invited Information Technology and media houses of that country to invest in Meghalaya.

�I invite US-based companies to explore business opportunities in Meghalaya,� Sangma said during his address at the Berkeley Innovation Forum, organised by the Berkeley Haas School of Business.

According to a press release received here, Sangma said that the Meghalaya Government is open to such investments as it would create new job opportunities and benefit the people of the State.

Top executives of Intel, IBM, Google, Disney, etc., were present during the Meghalaya Chief Minister�s address. Sangma informed the gathering about the initiatives taken by his Government to address social, economic and environmental issues. He also highlighted exotic products of the State like Lakadong turmeric and the tourist destinations of the State.
