IMPHAL, Aug 27 - National People�s Party (NPP) president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has expelled the party�s Manipur unit president, Thangminlien Kipgen, for allegedly acting against the constitution of the party.

�In order to ensure that the office continues, we appoint N Kayisii who is also the Tribal Affairs Minister in the State of Manipur as the interim president.�

Sangma said that the election to the State unit of Manipur would take place shortly following all the procedures of the NPP constitution.
