GUWAHATI, Sept 17 � Along with the rest of the country, a State-level Sanchayika Day was observed here in a befitting manner. In this connection, a programme was

organised by the National Savings Institute, Govt of India, Ministry of Finance, Guwahati, in coordination with the Directorate of Small Savings, Govt of Assam, at

Anandaram Baruah Uccha Buniyadi Vidyalaya, Rajaduar, North Guwahati at 11:30 am, a press release said.

The meeting was presided over the Gitanjali Kalita, headmistress of the school, and attended by the students. She urged the students to be thrifty and keep the habit

of savings. KK Pradhan, Deputy Director i/c, NSI urged the students to save a certain portion of whatever they get and said that savings does not mean only money, it

relates to everything, right from water. He asked the students to keep vigil against corrupt financial practices.
