GUWAHATI, Nov 15 - Sampurna Raas Leela Bhaona, a unique annual raas presentation started in Guwahati by Basanta Kumar Baruah and Dr Bobby Sarma Baruah of Hengrabari a decade back, would be held this year on December 11 and 12 at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Auditorium of Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati.

The event, usually held in two different languages every year, would be held only in Assamese this year in view of the pandemic situation.

The muhurat ceremony for the programme was held on November 10 and the rehearsals for the same would begin from November 17.

This year, the raas was supposed to be held in Tiwa language along with Assamese. However, due to some difficulty because of the pandemic situation, we are organising it only in Assamese, said Basanta Kumar Baruah of BB creations, the organisers of the event.

This will be the 12th year of continuous presentation of the raas leela event. Some of the artistes of the play include Atul Pachani, Dr Alakhya Baruah, Debabrat Dutta, Saranga Bordoloi, Rimjim Sarma, Gayatree Bora, Jayanta Phukan, Babu Bora, Bijoy Bora, Ashramika Saikia, Alish Sheikh among others.

Last year, the programme was organised in Nepali and Rabha languages.
