SAKP puts off agitation

GUWAHATI, Nov 30 - The Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) today announced that its dharna programme scheduled for December 1 has been postponed for the time being following an invitation from the State government for a discussion on the issues raised by it on the grievances of the State government employees.

The employees� organisation informed in a statement here that the State government, through a letter (ABP 85/2013/107 dated November 30, 2015) has told it (SAKP) that in the third week of next month Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will hold a discussion with its representatives on the issues it has been raising.

Following the receipt of this letter, the steering committee of the SAKP decided to postpone the December 1 dharna programme, which was scheduled to be held at the district and sub-divisional headquarters of the State by members of the Parishad in support of their demand for redressal of their grievances.
