GOALPARA, Sept 12 - Sainik School Goalpara created history by winning the CBSE (Cluster I) East Zone Football Championship (boys U-17) at the Gauhati University playground in Jalukbari. Sainik School Goalpara defeated Eden Public School, Manipur 3-0 in the final.
Cadet Rinku Deka who scored nine goals in the tournament won the highest scorer trophy while Arun Sonar was adjudged as the best player of the tournament.
The Sainik School Goalpara team will now represent the zone in the CBSE National Football Championship (boys U-17) which will be held at Vishwasnav Sharada Public School in Fatepur, Haryana from November 10 to 12.
