GOALPARA, July 13 - The 5-day event of East Zone Sainik Schools Sports and Co-curricular Championship concluded at the Sainik School Goalpara today.
Commander Reena Magdalene (Retired) was the chief guest and distributed the prizes.
Cadets of SS Purulia (West Bengal), SS Imphal (Manipur), SS Punglwa (Nagaland) along with the host school participated in football (U-14 and U-17), basketball, volleyball, hockey, English and Hindi debate, quiz, among others.
At the sports arena, SS Imphal bagged first position in U-14 football while SS Punglwa occupied the top position in U-17 football and basketball. SS Goalpara clinched the winner�s trophies in volleyball and hockey respectively. In co-corricular activities, SS Purulia and SS Punglwa bagged first position in English debate and various other entertainment shows respectively. SS Goalpara bagged first prize in quiz. SS Goalpara emerged as the overall champion.
