GUWAHATI, June 28 - The Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly, Debabrata Saikia, in a letter to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has urged the latter to take up the matter of auctioning of small oilfields in Assam by the Union Government.
�The Union Government's decision to auction the oilfields is against the sentiments of the people of Assam and must be revoked,� Saikia said.
Meanwhile, ULFA(I) too opposed the decision of the Centre and warned that it will launch an armed movement if the decision is not revoked.
