GUWAHATI, June 3 - Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Debabrata Saikia has written to the Union Home Minister requesting him to initiate a judicial inquiry into the March 30, 2017 incident of fake encounter and also take stern action to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
In the March 30 incident, two youths � Lucas Narzary (30) and David Islary (25) � were allegedly shot dead by security force personnel in cold blood. The security forces involved in the incident included the Army, Assam Police, CRPF and the SSB, said Saikia.
The allegation was levelled by Rajnish Rai, Inspector General, CRPF, North East Sector. The CRPF official had reportedly sent a report in this connection to the CRPF headquarters, to the Chief Secretary of the State, the GOC 4 Corps, Director Generals of Assam Police and SSB and ADG of the CRPF (NE Zone).
