GUWAHATI, Jan 21 - Saidul Alam Ahmed of AG Assam won the All India title in the Inter Zonal IA&AD Table Tennis Tournament held at Kolkata from January 19 to 21.
In the final today, Saidul defeated Joydip Das of AG Bengal 3-2 (11-6, 11-7, 7-11, 8-11, 11-8).
Earlier in the quarterfinal Saidul beat Abu Rizwan of AG Gujrat 3-0 and in the semifinal he got the better of Abhishek Mukherjee of AG West Bengal by 3-0, it was stated in a press release issued by Basanta Kumar Singh, secretary Civil Accounts Sports & Cultural Club.
