SAI boys down Narengi SC 6-3

GUWAHATI, July 29 - Playing a spirited game SAI Sports Club trounced Narengi Sporting Club 6-3 in today's match of the GSA A Division Football League at the Nehru Stadium here.

Trailing 1-2 at the breather, SAI went down 1-3 in the 53rd minute. But after that they took control of the situation and netted three snap goals to take 4-3 lead in the 78th minute. Finally they added two more to complete the rout.

Dheraj Rajbongshi put Narengi ahead in the 11th minute but SAI skipper Dwijoraj Boro drew parity after two minutes. However, Dheraj netted again in the 25th minute to give Narengi team 2-1 lead. After the break Dheraj completed his hat-trick in the 53rd minute. After the substantial lead the Narengi boys seemed to be reluctant in going for all out attack which they showed in the match till that time.

Pranjal Bhumij played a vital role in the final session and netted three in the 74th, 78th and added time while Pulok Baruah scored one in the 84th minute.

Pranjal could be termed as match winner today as he beat the opponent goalkeeper Mintu Sonowal using his individual brilliance.
