GUWAHATI, March 16 - A delegation of the Asam Sahitya Sabha led by its president Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi held a discussion with the Royal Global University (RGU) authorities on Friday, following which both parties agreed on having enhanced cooperation for implementation of the Official Language Act and other measures for facilitating study and research, besides collaborative endeavours for promoting the State�s language Assamese and other indigenous languages.
The Sabha said in a statement that the RGU authorities pledged cooperation in fulfilling the four-point memorandum submitted to them by the literary body.
The university authorities also assured the Sabha of their full cooperation in its various endeavours aimed at strengthening the position of the vernacular languages in the State.
