GUWAHATI, Dec 19 - The Brihattar Panjabari Sahitya Sabha (BPSS) has expressed �no confidence� against the present Asam Sahitya Sabha general secretary Dr Paramananda Rajbongshi in view of his unconstitutional activities and his tainted image in the context of several complaints of moral dereliction raised against him. It also expressed its �no confidence� against the Sabha president Dr Dhrubajyoti Borah.
Founder president of BPSS DN Chakravartty, while initiating the discussion, said that extension of the one-year term by the present executive committee of the Asam Sahitya Sabha is ultra vires of the constitution of the Sabha, which lays down specific provisions for amendment of the constitution. As such, the present executive committee of the Sabha will have to vacate office on January 31, 2017.
Nagen Bhuyan presided over the meeting. Members present in the meeting, including Dr SM Mahanta, Dr BK Debsarma, Ranajit Sutradhar, Bipin Bhattacharyya and Dr Bhabendranath Debsarmam, criticised the malfunctioning of the Sabha and urged Dr Rajbongshi and Dr Borah to vacate their offices by January 31 next.
