Safety, security demanded for COVID warriors

GUWAHATI, June 18 - Expressing solidarity with the doctors, nurses and health workers who are working as frontline warriors against the COVID-19, the Asom Mahila Sangha today demanded adequate safety and security for the nurses and health workers engaged in COVID duty in the State.

Sangha members today came on to the streets in different parts of the State with banners and posters extending their solidarity with the health workers.

The women�s group also demanded adequate security to the nurses and health workers along with free, fresh and adequate numbers of PPE kits, other personal protective equipment, nutritious food, safe and sanitized living arrangements, etc.

It also stated that nurses and health workers engaged in COVID duty continuously for 14 days should be given a break for seven days. The organisation also demanded of the State government to strengthen the overall health sector in Assam.
