Sacked Tripura minister rules out leaving BJP

By Correspondent

AGARTALA, June 12 - Sudip Roy Barman, who was removed from the BJP-IPFT ministry in Tripura recently following a rift with Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, is going to Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh on a religious visit.

Earlier, Barmans visit to Delhi triggered a lot of speculations, but the former State minister dismissed them as absolutely baseless and mischievous. He, however, admitted that he had called on BJPs national general secretary Ram Madhav and told him how he had been dropped from the council of ministers.

Meanwhile, Barman ruled out any contact with the Congress and asserted that he was with the BJP and would keep on working for the party. He attributed the rumours about his alleged contact with the Congress leadership as a baseless and mischievous campaign.

An aide said that the MLA was scheduled to meet Babai Dada at Deoghar while returning from Tirupati, but the programme had to be cancelled due to Babai Dadas busy schedule outside his headquarters.

The former Health Minister will return to Tripura soon to resume his normal political activities, the aide added.
