NEW DELHI, May 1 � President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev has condoled the Dhubri boat tragedy in Assam, even as the Border Security Force established direct contact with Border Guard Bangladesh.
In a message to the President and the Prime Minister, Medvedev said that is with sincere empathy that he has learned about the tragedy with the ferry in India�s North-east, which led to the deaths of more than 100 Indian citizens.
Lok Sabha Speaker, Meira Kumar has expressed her heartfelt grief at the loss of many lives in the�boat mishap in Assam. In her condolence message, Kumar said:��I am saddened to know about the loss of a large number of lives in the boat mishap near the Dhubri town of Assam. I convey my condolences to the bereaved families of those who have been killed in this tragic incident.�
Meanwhile, Border Security Force (BSF) has established a helpline for information for the kith and kin of victims of boat capsize in Dhubri district of Assam. The Number is 0361-2842972. It will be operational 24 hours and public can seek information about the tragedy.
