Rural self-employment action plan approved

GUWAHATI, March 26 - The district-level advisory committee meeting of the Assam Gramin Vikash Bank - Rural Self Employment Training Institute (AGVB-RSETI) Kamrup Metro was held earlier this week at the office chamber of the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro Pranati Majumdar here.

The Director of the institute Durlov Chandra Nath placed the annual action plan for 2017-18, which proposes to train 450 unemployed youth of the district in different activities under agricultural product and process and general entrepreneurship development programmes (EDPs).

The advisory committee after threadbare discussion approved the plan for implementation.

The meeting was chaired by Majumdar and attended by other members of the committee, including Kamal Bhoumik, Regional Manager of AGVB and VD Saraph, AGM of NABARD Guwahati.

The committee also discussed the performance of the institute and appreciated efforts made by the institute for imparting training to 550 candidates for taking up self-employment under various schemes.
