SIVASAGAR, Nov 15 - Sensation prevailed in Sivasagar yesterday as a section of inhabitants of Demowmukh village spread the news that three kids and two other teenagers would be sacrificed at the night of Kali Puja as part of a plan to recover huge amount of gold and money from the place where the human sacrifice would be made.
Villagers said two brothers Sariful Ali and Jamiul Ali made all preparations for human sacrifice to invoke �dark power� as per the directions of some sorcerers in Moran.
As the rumour spread, the villagers flocked to the place but timely action by police brought the situation under control.
Sivasagar SP Amitabh Sinha told this correspondent that the two brothers were taken into police custody. However, they were later allowed to go after the initial inquiry revealed that they had nothing to do with the plan of human sacrifice.
