RTI activist seeks answers from MPSC

TURA, June 23 - Social activist, Nilbath Marak (Dingnen) has filed an RTI application seeking information on the working of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) as well details of how interviews are conducted.

The RTI, according to him was necessitated after many complaints of nepotism in the process of interview, marks allocation as well as providing jobs were received. The RTI application was filed on June 19.

Nilbath has been fighting a battle against corruption in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) and has already filed a PIL and the first-ever Lokayukta case in Meghalaya. Both cases are due for hearing soon. The PIL was filed against the Chief Executive Member of GHADC, Denang Sangma (NPP) over incomplete work while the Lokayukta case was filed against Congress MDC, Ismail Marak.

�There have been many questions raised on selection through the MPSC. We want to ascertain that this is not the case and all jobs have been given to only those who deserve it,� he added.
