Rs 7 lakh stolen in Jorhat

JORHAT, Sept 20 - A bag containing Rs seven lakh kept inside a car parked near the Jorhat Police Station was reportedly stolen on Thursday after a thief broke open a window glass of the vehicle and took away the money.

A police source stated that a complaint in this regard was lodged by Bhaskar Pathak, Manager of Karmarbandha Tea Estate at the Jorhat Police Station.

The source stated that Pathak told police that after parking the car, he along with a subordinate had gone a bit away from the area for some work.

After returning to the spot where the car was parked, Pathak reportedly found the bag with cash missing from the car with a window pane broken.

Police investigation is on.
