Rs 7 lakh goes missing from SBI counter

DERGAON,March 27 � Great sensation prevails among the people after an amount of Rs 7 lakh reportedly went missing from the counter of SBI Bokakhat branch around 11.30 am today.

According to information a sum of Rs 7 lakh was kept ready for the ATM counter by the cashier Tilak Ch Sarmah. But soon the cash was found missing from the cash counter and a hue and cry was raised.

At that time two customers, Dipak Sarmah, an employee of RK Traders, Numaligarh and Lalit Jaisweria, an employee of Bokakhat Oil Depo were at the counter as they had gone there to deposit Rs 4 lakh and Rs 20 lakh respectively. Later police took the customers who were at the cash counter, to Bokakhat PS.

According to police Jalaluddin, an employee of Bagari Oil Depo had informed police that he had seen Dipak taking something from the counter and leaving immediately. But Dipak denied the charge. Police interrogation was going on till filing of this report.
