GUWAHATI, Nov 18 - Police has recovered Rs 7 lakh cash which was allegedly stolen by two employees of CSM company from the ATM of UBI located in Maligaon area on November 10.
The accused � Shankar Paul and Pranab Kar � were engaged under CSM, a firm meant for replenishment of the UBI ATM.
The duo was arrested after it was discovered by its Mumbai office that an amount of Rs 7 lakh was missing from the ATM after which the local authority was asked to inquire into the matter and a case (568/16) was registered on November 15 with the police.
Police investigations and footage gathered from the close circuit camera established involvement of the duo, who later admitted to the crime.
The duo was privy to the passwords which need to be entered to the cash box to open. The cash was recovered by Jalukbari police yesterday.
