ITANAGAR, March 1 � Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has disclosed that the Rs 225 crore loan taken by the State Government from NHPC to revive the sick Cooperative Apex Bank during June 2007 is yet to be refunded.
The CM recently informed that the amount was taken on nine per cent simple interest and the total amount would be adjusted from the free power that would be given to the State Government from projects executed by the power giant in the State. He said, out of the total amount, Rs 180 crore was paid as equity and another Rs 20 crore as soft loan by the bank. The bank has also refunded an amount of Rs 20 crore along with accrued interest of Rs 56.12 lakh to the State Government, he added. � PTI
